Q&A about Ski Resort winter season 2019–2020 ending in 23rd of March
How should I act if I bought lift tickets or rental equipment in advance and are now left unused?
From unused lift tickets and rental equipment purchases will be refunded in full for the customers. However, at this stage of the season, season passes are not refunded. Please return the equipment you have rented to the same rental shop you picked them up. There you will also receive a refund for days that are left unused due to closing the slopes.
Why is there no refund for the season pass?
We at Rukakeskus ltd have decided not to reimburse 2019–2020 season passes. The ski season lasted from 4th of October 2019 to 23rd of March 2020, so our customers had the possibility to ski/snowboard well above the daily value of the ski tickets. In addition, we follow the terms and conditions of The Finnish Ski Area Association (FSAA) for Finnish Ski Resort services. According to Clause 6.7.2 of the general terms and conditions for Ski Resort services, there is no right to receive compensation if the interruption is caused by reasons independent of the personnel, such as a power failure, high winds, excessively low temperatures, fog or other comparable reason, which the parties were not aware of at the time of purchasing the ticket or the consequences of which the personnel could not have prevented. Early closure was necessary to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. We are very sorry about the situation, but the most important thing has been to follow the instructions given by the authorities to prevent the spread of the disease.
